Graduates

As a new academic year begins at the ICTCM we would like to congratulate our 2025 graduates on the successful completion of the Professional Acupuncture Training programme.

ICTCM is proud to turn out yet another group of highly trained, fully qualified and competent TCM Acupuncture practitioners. Our graduates are now registered and insured with the Professional Register of Traditional Chinese Medicine (PRTCM). You can find contact information on the Practitioner list on the PRTCM website

Having successfully completed three years of intensive part-time training they are now able to set up and work from their own clinics using Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping, Lifestyle advice and Food therapy.

What can TCM Acupuncture Practitioners treat?

Traditional Chinese Medicine through the use of Acupuncture and its other modalities, aims to establish energetic harmony in the whole person and thereby not only treat illness but also promote active health and vitality.

TCM is one of the most potent, tried and tested comprehensive forms of medicine known to man. It has many branches including Acupuncture, Herbs and Medical Qigong. Each can flourish independently or in conjunction, one with the other.

TCM is a full medical system in its own right. As such it can be used to treat all types of medical conditions.

TCM does not use Western Medicine labels to describe the ailment that it treats. Instead it treats according to TCM principals and uses Chinese Medicine terminology to describe the condition treated.

However, clients frequently present in Acupuncture clinics with disorders they themselves describe using Western Medical names. For a list of commonly presenting conditions in TCM clinics you can visit this link.

What happens at a TCM appointment?

The TCM Acupuncture Practitioner will carry out a full Chinese Medical consultation. This can take some time. It involves asking the client about their complaint as well as listening diagnosis, looking diagnosis, and pulse taking.

From here the diagnosis and treatment plan are formulated and the treatment can take place.

The practitioner will then insert the fine pre sterilised stainless steel Acupuncture needles into specific points on the body surface.

The initial treatment can last anywhere between 30 mins to an hour.

Who can be treated?

Everyone can be treated with TCM. This means it can be used by everyone from the newborn to the elderly and all in between just as effectively. This includes pregnancy.

TCM Acupuncture is, when used by a fully qualified and highly trained practitioner, like that of our recent graduates – very safe, effective and has no side effects.

ICTCM wishes its newly qualified graduates of 2025 the very best in their new clinics and on their TCM journey. If you would like to make an appointment with any of our new graduates you can find their details on the PRTCM practitioner list above.
